The world of Xyra orbits in such a way that one side of the planet is always facing the sun, and the other the void of space. The light side of the planet is a barren desert, hot enough to melt most equipment in a matter of hours. The dark side is a frozen wasteland, too cold for electronics to survive. The equator, however, is a temperate paradise filled with fascinating bio-luminescent plant life. Low in mineral wealth, this twilight zone is home to scattered settlements of scientists and colonists, there both to study the unique flora and to live away from the bustle of more populous colonies.
The terrain materials and grass are from Quixel Bridge, and the water is a modified version of the built-in water system in UE5. All buildings are from the Mission to Minerva kit. The scrub and mushroom-esque trees were modeled from scratch in Blender and textured in Unreal, with some texture maps made in Krita. This makes my second finished project in Unreal Engine, and while it didn't come out quite how I'd hoped it would, I'm pretty happy with it overall. Sadly, most of my in-progress renders were overwritten before I remembered to save them elsewhere, so I only have the two renders to share. The final version is significantly changed from my original concept, which was a lot more Earth-like.
